Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2, 2026. Effective: March 2, 2026.
ChainReport Weekly ("we," "us," "the publication") is published by Coastal Media Group LLC, a Delaware limited-liability company. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect the email address you submit. Paid subscribers additionally provide billing information, which is processed by our payment processor (Stripe) and not retained on our servers beyond a customer-reference identifier. Contact-form submissions include your name, email address and message contents.
Information collected automatically. Server logs record IP address, browser type, referrer, requested URL and timestamp for each visit. This information is used for aggregate analytics and security.
2. How we use information
- To deliver newsletter issues to subscribers.
- To operate the paid-subscriber tier (billing, archive access, member-only content).
- To measure aggregate readership.
- To serve display advertising through Google Ads.
- To respond to messages you send us.
3. Cookies & local storage
We use a small number of first-party cookies to remember reading preferences and paid-subscriber sessions. Third-party cookies may be set by our ad provider (Google Ads) and our payment processor (Stripe).
4. Third-party services
Google Ads serves display advertising. Google's practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Stripe processes subscription payments. Their practices are governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Email delivery is handled through a standard transactional email provider under a data-processing agreement that limits use of subscriber addresses to newsletter delivery.
5. Sharing
We do not sell subscriber information. We do not share subscriber addresses with third parties for marketing purposes. Aggregate readership statistics (article read-counts, subscriber-tier ratios) may be published in our own reporting.
6. Retention
Subscriber addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained for 90 days. Paid-subscriber billing records are retained per applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
7. Your rights
You may request a copy of personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@chainreportweekly.example. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional statutory rights under the California CCPA/CPRA, the Virginia CDPA, the Colorado CPA, the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, or similar laws; we will honour them within the timeframes those laws require.
8. Children
ChainReport Weekly is a professional publication written for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated policy here and, where practical, notify newsletter subscribers by email.
